This is a true hill challenge, where you will discover one of the most beautiful nature trails in Latvia, along the unique Brasla river, which generously offers views of sandstone outcrops.
Along the route, you will reach Piluezers, where you can peacefully catch your breath and, depending on the chosen distance, test the limits of your strength.
The first steps of the hike will lead along a wide reservoir, where the forest-surrounded landscape offers a great view of a well-known fish farm. Crossing its small bridge, you will enter a true hill challenge, discovering a variety of rock formations and ravines – yellow, beige, and many others. The beautiful banks of the Brasla are among the most remarkable hiking routes in Latvia. Here you can look far into the distance from hilltops or try to find a mysterious cave. Not to mention a lunch break with a murmuring stream at your feet.
In summer, we definitely recommend returning here for a boat trip to enjoy the stunning scenery even more.
As soon as we say goodbye to the river, trails will turn into roads that lead to a small town, where you will get to know a Latvian writer famous since long ago. If you wish, you can enjoy a tasty meal at a local cafe, and then the roads will once again turn into trails until you reach an outstanding lake. There you can enjoy a snack break and prepare for the final stage of the hike, which will also test your strength in some sections.
